Q1: What I would like to do is to check your quality by taking a sample.
A1: Once you have been sure of the price, you may ask to have samples to verify our quality. In order to provide you with samples, we can provide them at no cost (the type and quantity of samples will depend) or you can pay the charge of the sample which can be refunded to you upon confirming your order in case of higher order quantity in terms of quantity than our MOQ.
Q2: What is the maximum time the sample will take me to get?
A2: The samples will be available in 3-5 days after you make the sample charge and we have verified the drawing between them. They will be delivered thru express and will take 3-5 days. You may make use of your own express account or prepay us in case you do not have one.
Q3: Can you do the design for us?
A3: Yes. We possess expert engineers possessing ample experience in printed overlay design. Simply provide your ideas or your product specifications, including the details, though you may not be in possession of the entire files, and we will help you design an idea to a perfect design. Your confirmation of the completed drawing before production will be sent.
Q4: What of the lead time of mass production?
A4: To be honest, it is dependent on the quantity and the time of the year you have the order. MOQ has a lead time of approximately 10 to 15 days. As a rule, you can get in 4 weeks any goods at your address.
Q5: What is the type of transportation that you provide?
A5: We provide the services of express like UPS, TNT, DHL, and so on. We also offer air and sea delivery service on bulk order, where at request, door to door service can be given.
Q6: What do you consider to be your minimum order quantity (MOQ) of printed overlays?
A6: The minimum quantity of printed overlays that we order is 500. The MOQ can be moderately changed when it is necessary to design custom designs with unusual procedures (e.g., embossing, backlighting). We also take small trial orders to satisfy your testing requirements and we also give you preferential pricing when it comes to bulk orders.
Q7: Which file formats do you receive when you are making custom designs?
A7: Vector files (AI, PDF, CorelDRAW, CAD) are accepted by us to have a high quality printing and die-cutting because they represent a clear graphic and proper dimensions. In case you have bmp files only (e.g. PNG, JPG), please include large scale (300 DPI+) copies so that they do not get distorted during printing.
Q8: Does your product provide any customizations to printing or types of adhesive?
A8: Yes. We embrace personalized printing process (silkscreen, UV, digital printing) depending on your design specifications (e.g. color vibrancy, precision needs). In the case of adhesives, we have 3M467, 3M468, 3M9080, 3M9448A, etc. and could recommend or supply separate adhesives should you have a special adhesion requirement (to work on curved surfaces or in a high temperature environment).
Custom Tips
When having your own custom prints on overlay, these are some of the main guidelines to be considered so that your printed overlay can be aesthetically, functionally, and in the most durable form:
1. Artwork Preparation
Give high quality of the vectors files (AI, PDF, CorelDRAW, CAD) to print sharply and cut perfectly with the die. Where text is used, or where logos and other functional markers (button icons, window outlines) are required, maintain 3mm distance between them and cut edges to prevent truncation or distortion. In case of the use of bitmap files, make sure that the resolution is 300 DPI and above.
2. Matching of Thickness and Material
Select PC to be more durable and to be impact resistant (suggestive of devices that are used a lot). PET should be used when small, low cost solutions are required (where it is used in consumer electronics). Choose thickness: 0.175- 0.3mm slim, 0.5-1.0mm normal or panel structural support required.
3. Finish Selection
Glossy finish enhances the color vividness and the visibility of the brand (poor promotional or high quality devices). Matte finish eliminates glare (ideal with outdoor equipment or in the bright environment). Brushed finish will provide an industrial, high quality feel – combine hard coat with the soft touch on the most heavily used areas.
4. Printing Method Selection
Silkscreen printing for bold colors, large batches, and long-lasting durability. UV printing for intricate details, gradient colors, or small-batch orders. Digital printing for fast turnaround and high-definition graphics—ideal for custom designs with complex patterns.
5. Adhesive & Application Tips
Select 3M467/468 for high bond strength (permanent adhesion). Choose 3M9080/9448A for removable or repositionable needs. For curved or uneven surfaces, inform us in advance to recommend adhesive with better conformability. Ensure the application surface is clean (dust-free, oil-free) for optimal adhesion.
6. Design Option Considerations
For embossing or tactile response, specify height and location (align with buttons for user-friendly interaction). For backlighting or filter windows, use transparent materials and avoid printing on these sections. For circuit encoding or elastomer keypad integration, provide detailed assembly requirements for precise alignment.
